Every nonprofit has a unique story, but successful nonprofits effectively weave their story through all they do. Whether in newsletters, websites, special events or simply in management style, the keys to success in outreach, awareness and fundraising come via effective storytelling. Communicating your own story must be strategic yet simple, concise yet adaptable, but most of all, must come from the heart.

This session will help you find practical and real solutions to more effectively tell your story. We will look at other nonprofit successes, as well as a simple way to assess your organization’s own storytelling capabilities with tangible and practical solutions.

Zak Boone is Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Oregon.  He previously worked in the office of university relations at Portland State University and in grants management at Oregon Health & Science University. He has a masters degree in Public Administration/Nonprofit Management and has recently completed a re-branding effort at the Bend Ronald McDonald House.
