Helpline History

TACS has been an information resource for the nonprofit community in Oregon since 1977. Supporting the nonprofit sector and sharing information has been a strong value of our organization since its inception. We have devoted a lot of time and energy to developing resources and responding to requests from people working in and in support of nonprofit organizations.

In 1993 TACS received funding that made it possible to formalize this service as the Nonprofit Organizations Information and Referral Helpline, with its first Helpline coordinator, Erica Rubin. Since then we have grown to respond to more than 2,000 calls and emails each year from organizations throughout the Northwest and beyond.

Our website now provides a range of additional opportunities to share information through the Helpline Online and Useful Links sections.

We plan to keep adding to these sections and hope you will find them useful.
